Stalin Ordered the Assassination of John Wayne

I found this Wikipedia entry that maintains Stalin ordered the assassination of John Wayne. Crazy stuff. I wonder what declassified documents will reveal 50 years from now about what goes on today:

Wikipedia: "Soviet documents released in 2003 reveal that, despite being a fan of Wayne's movies, Joseph Stalin ordered Wayne's assassination due to his strong anti-communist politics. Stalin died before the killing could be accomplished. His successor, Nikita Khrushchev, reportedly told Wayne during a 1958 visit to the United States that he had personally rescinded the order.[27][28]"

Why Isn't Tim Blankenship in Jail?

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/15/us/15court.html?_r=1

Wikipedia:

Photographs of Blankenship vacationing on the French Riviera with West Virginia Supreme Court Justice Elliott "Spike" Maynard, while Massey had a case pending before that court, have appeared in the New York Times. On Feb. 14, 2009, Blankenship told the New York Times "I’ve been around West Virginia long enough to know that politicians don’t stay bought, particularly ones that are going to be in office for 12 years ... So I would never go out and spend money to try to gain favor with a politician. Eliminating a bad politician makes sense. Electing somebody hoping he’s going to be in your favor doesn’t make any sense at all.".[18]

Everyman on Everest

NYTIMES, 1 April 2010: Everyman on Everest

SEATTLE — My friend John Rudolf left for Mount Everest on Monday, off to clamber up toward the roof the world at an age, 62, when some people have trouble getting out of bed in the morning — or at least finding a motivation to greet the dawn.

He’s in great shape, full of the kind of energy that could keep a poker game going at 3:00 a.m., and I’m convinced if weather, luck and logistics are on his side, John Rudolf will join a very small club of people who have climbed the highest point on each of the seven continents. For him, Everest is the last one left on this most rarified of bucket lists.

Oh, and he’s been diagnosed with prostate cancer as well, though at this point it’s in a wait-and-watch stage.
